Ebony S. Okafor
Licensed Graduate Marriage and Family Therapist
Throughout life we may experience numerous challenges, obstacles and difficulties. It is during those times that having a safe place to process and arrive stronger on the other side is needed. I aim to help clients create that safe place when they have identified that the issue has become too large to handle on their own.
I seek to create a judgement free space therapeutic relationship focused on healing and personal growth through an exploration of psychological, emotional, interpersonal issues that may hinder life for a client. I focus on working with those who may need guidance to repair communication within relationships, self-esteem, depression, couple difficulties or enhancement through pre-marital preparation and goal setting.
I am a Licensed Graduate Marriage and Family Therapist and a pre-clinical member of American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. I work with individuals, couples and families with a focus on adolescent issues. I operate from a strengths-based perspective, recognizing the inherent strengths that lie within the client while also acknowledging the societal and environmental realities that may influence the issues faced by clients. I also draw on techniques from Cognitive behavioral and emotion-focused where congruence between thoughts, behaviors and emotions are explored in relation to what has caused or allowed for the issue to continue for the client.
